First Lego League (FLL) is part of an educational initiative by the LEGO Group and non-profit organization FIRST. The program was created to inspire young people to pursue careers in STEM.

Four equal-weight components
Technology
Design and create a robot & attachments using lego robotics parts. Create & iterate through strategies to complete various missions. Code the robot to accomplish the missions in given time.
Core Values
The entire competition helps participants build several characteristics including discovery, teamwork, innovation, inclusion, impact, gracious professionalism while having fun.
Robot Matches
With the Robot and the accessories, compete against teams and complete as many missions possible within 2.5 minutes. Objective is to build as much reliability to gain as many points possible in the game.
Innovation Project
Give young minds the experience in the product development lifecycle and build new products. Here, teams pick a problem worth solving by conducting research. They narrow down to a problem statement, find solution alternatives & further develop the idea.
